citizenship by investment programme for Grenada

The citizenship by investment programme for Grenada is one of the newest programmes available to investors. The Grenada investment visa programme provides second citizenship in Grenada and a passport to investors offering visa-free travel to over 127 countries including the UK, EU Schengen countries and China. Grenada also offers access for its citizens to the USA E2 treaty investor visa.

Applicants need to invest either $200,000 as a donation or $350,000 in a government approved real estate project and maintain the property investment in Grenada for at least 4 years.

The Grenada programme is one of the newest citizenship investment programmes available to investors. Introduced in 2013 it offers a low cost entry for a second passport. Grenada is the only Caribbean programme with no country restrictions. All applicants are welcome but are subject to strict due diligence checks.

There are fees and taxes to pay in addition. Applicants must be of outstanding character, in good health, of high net worth and with no criminal record. There is no requirement to visit for an interview for the Grenada citizenship programme and in fact there is no need to travel to the country to complete the application.

There are no specific country restrictions with the Grenada programme (includes Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria). Children and dependents up to age 30 can be included (subject to restrictions) along with dependent parents over age 55 (if fully supported). There is no tax on worldwide income and processing of the application takes around 4 months. Government, Professional and Due Diligence fees apply.

Citizenship by donation is available in Grenada from $200,000 (+ costs) for families of up to four persons. For families of five persons a donations of $225,000 (+ costs) is required. A non refundable contribution is payable to Grenada’s National Transformation Fund. The process takes between 3- 4 months.

An investment of $350,000 in real estate in Grenada will obtain you a second passport, allowing visa free travel to over 100 different countries world wide, including access to the US, China and UK. Countries where you can buy citizenship or residency

The super-rich are no longer just spending their money on private jets, yachts, and hotels — they're also splashing out on second passports.

The Second Citizenship Survey 2017 from CS Global Partners found that 89% of people would like to own a second passport, and over 34% said they had looked into investing in a second citizenship.
Even more striking were the 80.68% who said they would be willing to invest or donate 5% of their annual salary for a second citizenship — more than they spend on monthly rent.
Luckily, according to Associated Press, at least two dozen countries offer a new home to people willing to invest in a business, real estate or government bonds.

Some of these countries offer Citizenship by Investment (CIP) programs where money can actually buy a second passport, usually starting at around $200,000.

The programs typically involve investment in real estate in exchange for the elite status that comes along with owning a citizenship — and property — in another country. Other programs offer "elite residency" — an extended visa with perks — in exchange for similar investments.
