The new Migration Law No. 13.445 and Decree No. 9.199 came into force on 21 November 2017.
The new law has extinguished the Tourist Visa (VITUR) and the Transit Visa (VITRA). Visit Visas (VIVIS) will now be issued for foreigners interested in traveling to Brazil for a short period (up to 90 days) for tourism, business, transit, cultural and sports activities as well as participation in conferences, meetings, business fairs and exhibitions, voluntary services, research, education and university extension, health treatment, press coverage, audit and consultancy activities).
