VISA REQUIREMENTS

The new Migration Law No. 13.445 and Decree No. 9.199 came into force on 21 November 2017.

The new law has extinguished the Tourist Visa (VITUR) and the Transit Visa (VITRA). Visit Visas (VIVIS) will now be issued for foreigners interested in traveling to Brazil for a short period (up to 90 days) for tourism, business, transit, cultural and sports activities as well as participation in conferences, meetings, business fairs and exhibitions, voluntary services, research, education and university extension, health treatment, press coverage, audit and consultancy activities).

E-VISA

To apply for the visit visa (vivis), please fill the on-line application form available in the website. (link in the related section)

• Visa applications will only be accepted if all the necessary documents have been scanned and uploaded on the on-line application form.
• All the documents submitted must be translated to English, Portuguese or Spanish.
• All pages of the application form must be filled, printed and signed by the applicant.
• After filling and sending online the form, the applicant shall bring the printed form (only the first page), as well as all the original documents scanned in the online application.
• Consular charges for visit visa: US$ 80 per person

For pleasure trips (tourism), the following documents must be scanned and uploaded to the application form:

• Passport valid for at least 6 months
• Old Passport
• One recent 3x4 colored photo
• certificate of employment with registration in Social Security Organization or payslip; or certificate of enrolment in the university or school/
• Round trip air ticket reservation to Brazil (for at least 20 days after the date of the application)
• Hotel reservation in Brazil or invitation letter with address, contacts and verified signature of the host in Brazil
• Proof of financial resources (bank declaration and bank statement of the last three months, property deed or other sources of income)
• Birth certificate
• Children under 18 years old who travel without their parents or with only one of them must present authorization letter from the parents certified by a notary.

Transit visa

For transit in Brazil, the following documents must be scanned and uploaded to the application form:

• The visit visa is not mandatory in case of flight connections in the Brazilian territory if the traveler remains in the international transit lounge of the airport. Please note that connections between different flight companies may require the exit of the international transit lounge.
• Passport valid for at least 6 months
• Old Passport
• One recent 3x4 colored photo
• Document attesting to the activity held in Iran (certificate of employment with registration in Social Security Organization or payslip; or certificate of enrolment in the university or school)
• Ticket reservation to Brazil (for at least 20 days after the date of the application)
• Ticket reservation to final destination
• Valid visa to the destination country,
• if applicable: Proof of financial resources (bank declaration and bank statement of the last three months, property deed or other sources of income)
• Children under 18 years old who travel without their parents or with only one of them must present an authorization letter from their parents certified by a notary.
