Types visas
To apply for an entry visa, the following visa support documents, confirming the purpose of the visit and travel conditions, are required:
- transit visa (type B) with the right of single, double or multiple transit through the territory of the Republic of Belarus within 2 days;
- short-term visa (type C), valid up to 90 days with the right of single, double or multiple entry and the right to stay for up to 90 days;
- long-term visa (type D), valid up to 1 year with the right to stay for up to 90 days , unless otherwise stipulated by international agreements of the Republic of Belarus.
Transit visa (type B)
- a visa of the country of a foreign citizen final destination.
Transit visa (type B) use and visa support documents:
If a visa to enter the third country is not required, other grounds for obtaining a transit visa are taken into account, including tickets for travelling by rail, road and air transport or reservation confirmation.
Visa type C
- for a purpose of business,
- for participation in sport or cultural events
- for tourism
- for private purposes
- to study
- for employment
- for religious reasons
- for the implementation of humanitarian programs
- for visiting the burial places
- for journalistic activity
- for permanent residence;
VISA REQUIREMENTS
short-term visa (type C) use and visa support documents
- for religious reasons
- an original letter of visa support of a religious association, issued on a letter-head with the full name of the religious association, its location and telephone number, and the obligation of the religious association to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus, approved by the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs;
- for tourism
one of the following original documents for the period, specified in the document, but no more than 30 days:- a letter of visa support of a Belarusian tourist company, issued on a letter-head with the full name of the tourist company, its location and telephone number and the obligation of the tourist company to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus;
- a letter of visa support of a sanatorium-and-spa resort or recreation center, issued on a letter-head with its full name, location and telephone number, purpose, period of stay of a foreign citizen, services rendered, confirmation of the voucher reservation and full or partial prepayment for the services, as well as the obligation of the sanatorium-and-spa resort or recreation center to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus;
- a letter of visa support of a representative of farm tourism business with its name and address, purpose, period of stay of a foreign citizen, services rendered and the obligation of the representative to assure a foreign citizen observance of the rules of stay in the Republic of Belarus and copies of documents, confirming the right to provide its services in the sphere of farm tourism;
- for private purposes
one of the following documents:- an original invitation, issued by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus;
- official confirmation of serious illness or death of a close relative or spouse, a death certificate – for processing an entry visa to a foreign citizen, whose close relative or spouse became seriously ill or died in Belarus, as well as to close relatives and spouse of this foreign citizen;
- a subpoena, including the one received by facsimile or other channels of communication;
- an original document, confirming the ownership of the real estate property in Belarus – for processing an entry visa to the owner of property and to his/her family members;
- a letter of visa support of a Belarusian healthcare institution or contract for medical services with a Belarusian healthcare institution, prepared in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus – for processing a visa to a foreigner, who is in need of medical care, provided in Belarus, as well as to an accompanying person, if required;
- for visiting the burial places
- an original certificate of the local executive committee, confirming the fact of burial in the Republic of Belarus and the maintenance of the graves of close relatives or$selected_countries[]=array("Macau",1,0,"3m"); spouse of a foreign citizen;
- for the implementation of humanitarian programs, including foreign donations, rest and recreation of children and volunteer work
- a letter of visa support of the Humanitarian Activities Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus or another authorized governmental institution of the Republic of Belarus, regional executive committees and the Minsk City Executive Committee, including letters of visa support, received by facsimile or other channels of communication;
- for journalistic activity
- upon temporary accreditation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus;
long-term visa (type D)
- for a purpose of business
- for participation in sport or cultural events
- for private purposes
- for visiting the burial places
- for religious reasons
- for the implementation of humanitarian programs
- for journalistic activity
- for employment;
Long-term visa (type D) use and visa support documents
- for participation in sport or cultural events
upon the following documents:- an original letter of visa support of a Belarusian legal entity;
- a document, that proves the necessity of multiple visits to the Republic of Belarus during the requested period of visa validity, i.e. copy of a contract (cooperation agreement) between a Belarusian legal entity and foreign citizen or foreign organization where he/she works, that confirms the existence of stable business connection, or the schedule of sport events;
- by the decision of the consular officer – other documents, confirming the information, contained in the letter of visa support, and the existence of long-term contacts;
- for private purposes
one of the following original documents:- an invitation, issued by the local unit of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus;
- a document, that proves the existence of the property right to the house/apartment on the territory of the Republic of Belarus – for the property owner and his/her family members;
- a contract for medical services with a Belarusian healthcare institution, prepared in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus – for processing a visa to a foreigner who is in need of medical care, provided in Belarus, as well as to an accompanying person, if required.
- for visiting the burial places
- an original certificate, issued by the local executive committee, confirming the fact of burial on the territory of the Republic of Belarus and the maintenance of the grave of a close relative or spouse of a foreign citizen;
- for religious reasons
- an original letter of visa support of a religious association, approved by the Commissioner for Religious and Ethnic Affairs;
- for the implementation of humanitarian programs, including foreign donations, rest and recreation of children and volunteer work
- a letter of visa support of the Humanitarian Activities Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus or another authorized governmental institution of the Republic of Belarus;
- for journalistic activity
- upon permanent accreditation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus;
If a foreigner was granted a long-term entry visa for the last 3 years in order to maintain business relations or realize humanitarian programs, he or she can obtain a long-term entry visa valid up to 2 years with the right of staying in the Republic of Belarus for up to 90 days per calendar year from the date of the first entry into the Republic of Belarus.
If a foreigner was granted a long-term entry visa for the last 3 years with a period of validity for more than one year in order to maintain business relations or realize humanitarian programs, this person can obtain a long-term entry visa valid up to 3 years with the right of staying in the Republic of Belarus for up to 90 days per calendar year from the date of the first entry into the Republic of Belarus.
